Desert Island Hospital STAFF PHARMACIST Mount Desert Island Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, located in the beautiful coastal community of Bar Harbor, Maine, is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our growing Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities include order interpretation and review, final verification of all medications dispensed, IV admixture including TPN and chemotherapy preparation and serving as a resource liaison for medical and nursing staff. In addition, in the absence of the Director of the Pharmacy, the successful candidate will supervise the department including the work performed by the on duty pharmacy techs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining good interdepartmental and Hospital-wide relations. Applicants must be well versed in accepted professional principles which include compliance with Federal and State of Maine laws, regulations, and guidelines governing pharmaceutical services. Candidates with 3-5 years of hospital experience preferred. This unique and challenging full time salaried position will encompass all facets of the profession.
